Gene Bond was born in Meridian, MS and attended the University of Mississippi. He began his career in the insurance and investment industry in the summer of 1985 in New Orleans, LA. He was both the new agent of the year for the company he represented and the General Agencies Management Association New Agent of the Year in 1985. After another very successful year in 1986, Mr. Bond returned to his hometown and started his own company, Bond Financial Group (BFG), on April 1, 1987.
During the 1990s both Gene Bond and Bond Financial Group experienced much success as the practice grew to four locations throughout MS and AL. Due to the birth of his son, Tripp, Gene semi-retired in 1997. By semi-retirement we mean that Mr. Bond continued to be available to and service his existing clientele, however he did not try to add new clients. This provided him with the opportunity to spend more time with his son during the early years of Tripp’s life. Two of Gene’s proudest moments come from this time period. One is the fact that Tripp’s first words were “ahh dada.” The other proud moment is the fact that the first time Tripp walked, it was to Gene. As Gene puts it, “you can’t put a price tag on memories like that.”
Gene Bond and Bond Financial Group believes in and puts a heavy emphasis on education. Their mission is to eliminate financial illiteracy and empower Americans to take control of their finances by providing free educational workshops in local communities, as part of a financial wellness program. A person’s financial condition can have a major impact on a person’s overall health and well-being. At BFG they will provide you with a large number of resources to help you achieve financial wellness. Who is Gene Bond?
