Morey Trupe
Since 2008, Morey Trupe has been proudly serving the Black Hills area, helping individuals and families navigate their financial journeys with confidence and clarity. Before launching his career in financial services, Morey was a small business owner. It was during that time he recognized a real need for financial education—and felt called to do something about it. So, in 2008, he sold his business and followed his passion into finance. Today, he brings that same entrepreneurial spirit and a no-pressure approach to the work he does with his clients. Morey’s focus is simple: helping people pursue their financial goals while making sense of complex topics like investing, tax planning, estate planning, and long-term care. Along the way, he’s built not just client relationships—but lasting friendships. He sees himself as an educator first, offering tools and insights through portfolio reviews and market analysis to help his clients make informed decisions. At the heart of it all is his faith, which plays a meaningful role in both his personal and professional life. Morey knows the value of hard work firsthand. He grew up in a family business, starting with a broom in hand at age 8. Over the years, he worked his way up and eventually co-owned the company with his siblings—growing it into a successful enterprise. That experience gave him deep insight into the challenges of balancing business, finances, family, and personal goals. After selling the family business, Morey transitioned full-time into financial services and later partnered with Osaic Wealth Inc., drawn to its strong foundation and community-focused values. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from Black Hills State University and holds several professional credentials, including:
  • Series 7 Securities License
  • Series 66 Investment Advisory License
  • Insurance licenses in life, health, and annuities
  • Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP©)
Morey was born and raised in Rapid City, SD, and loves spending time outdoors—whether it’s camping, fishing, golfing, hunting, or hitting the slopes. Family is everything to him. He and his wife Shawn have four children, four grandchildren, and three dogs: two Labrador retrievers, Sam and Charlie (his hunting buddies), and Cooper, a small terrier mix who’s full of personality and very much the boss of the house. In fact, Cooper and his squeaky ball pretty much run the show! Dogs have always been part of Morey’s life—and so has his commitment and loyalty to helping others. Whether you’re just starting out, nearing retirement, or somewhere in between, Morey is here to walk alongside you on your financial path. Osaic Wealth, Inc. does not provide tax and/or legal advice. However, Morey will work with your attorney or independent tax or legal advisor.
