Josh Wood
Mr. Wood grew up here in the DFW metroplex. And though he loves the local country lifestyle, he explored living elsewhere, including New York, the West Coast mountains in the Lake Tahoe region, and a couple of other metro areas. But when it was time to start his family, he and his wife came back to their Texas roots.
From a young age, Josh always knew he wanted to be involved in the financial markets. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in the late 90s, guiding clients through the tech bubble of 2000, which was instrumental in helping him develop a disciplined process for managing risk. He then built an independent practice of retail and institutional clients on the West Coast before relocating back to Texas. Here, he became an advisor for high-net-worth clients at TD Ameritrade, now Charles Schwab. Josh has a Master’s degree in Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner professional. Over the years, he’s added several designations, including Master Planner Advanced Studies, Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional, Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist, and Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor.
Josh is driven by the desire to help families achieve and secure wealth. He believes wealth comes from assets that you earn while you sleep. Over the years, he’s seen too many Americans who make a good living but do not properly manage their savings. This happens because they or even their advisors, don’t have a proper understanding of risk management and asset protection. His expertise allows him to build sound, effective financial plans that benefit the client first, which is really what fiduciary accountability is all about.
When he’s not working, Josh enjoys time with his family. He loves caring for his horses, the outdoors, and life’s simple moments. His son plays little league and the family loves to escape to the mountains to ski whenever possible.
He joined PEAK to help advance our mission of offering financial planning and portfolio management typically reserved for the ultra-high-net-worth to those who may not have the same access. He believes that our team approach, deep expertise and unique advice create a win-win situation for every client that partners with us.
